ROOT realme 5 | 5i

realme 5 was launched in august 2019 but it is still a good option cause it comes with powerful snapdragon 665AIE SOC. It is easier to root  snapdragon phones , also realme has huge community  which makes this process easy for us.

Realme 5 and realme 5i comes with same hardware so they can be root with same method and files.

Possible ways to root realme 5

• Root with boot.img file.
• Root with custom recovery.

                       

Pre-requirements

• Unlocked bootloader
• File must same as your phone and build
• A backup plan
  

Let's root with TWRP

Downloads

• TWRP Download
• VB meta Download
  
• Minimal adb tool Download
  
• Fastboot drivers Download
• Magisk zip Download
  

1. Download all pre-required files from above links

 

2. Boot your phone in bootloader (fastboot) by pressing volume down + power button

3. Connect phone with USB cable

4. Install  Minimal adb tool (System wide)

 

5. Install USB drivers

 

 

 

6. Move downloaded TWRP  & VB meta file in installed Minimal tool's directory

 

7. Click on CMD here file install Minimal tool directory it will Windows terminal

 

8. Type "Fastboot flash recovery 'TWRP name' " 

     Type "Fastboot flash vbmete 'vbmeta name' "

9. Now recovery is successfully install  so boot in recovery

 

10. If custom recovery comes then copy downloaded magisk to phone 

11. Flash this magisk zip it will root your phone

12. Format data from custom recovery 

13. Hit reboot button

14. Done

Let's root with Boot.img

Patching boot.img for realme 5

1. Download boot.img and vbmeta.img for realme 5 according to your phone's build number from above links.

3. Download and install latest magisk manager here

4. Run latest magisk manager 

5. In magisk , tap on install as shown in the image below.

6. Now , click on ‘Select and Patch a file’ and browse the boot.img file from your phone storage.

7. Navigate to your downloaded Boot.img for realme 5 file and patch the file as shown in the image below.

8. Wait for couple of seconds and Magisk will create new patched boot.img file.

9.After completing the process, newly patched boot.img file will be saved in download folder. Rename magisk_patched.img output file to boot.img only.

 10.Transfer your patched_boot.img and vbmeta.img file secondary phone.

Flash patched boot image in realme 5

1. Bring a secondary phone which supports OTG cable.
 
2. Enable usb debugging in your realme 5.
 
3. Connect realme 5 with secondary phone using OTG .
 
4. Download Bugjaeger tool in secondary phone.
 
5. Open bugjaeger tool and click on fastboot tab.

6. Tap on reboot to bootloader button in bugjaeger tool it will boot your phone in fastboot mode.
 
7. If your phone succesfully booted in fastboot mode.
 
8. Click on floating arrow (<>) button it will open a terminal.
 
9. To check your realme 5 is connected or not in fastboot mode type "FASTBOOT DEVICES" in terminal.

10. If terminal displaying serial number like this that's mean your phone is connected.

11. Type "FASTBOOT FLASH BOOT address of patched boot image" in terminal.

12. Type "fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash address of vbmeta" in terminal .
 
13. Type "FASTBOOT REBOOT"
 
14. Boom, root successful welcome in superuser community.
